If you want to help but don’t have a lot of time, you can volunteer by donating flowers.  It does not matter if they are from the store or freshly cut from your garden, your flowers will brighten someone’s day!  On the dining table or in someone’s room, they are sure to be appreciated.  Some nursing home residents withdraw to their room, and your flowers just might be the thing that encourages them to go outside and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, and socialize with others.  Small things can make a big difference.
